Super super fickle south coast beachie lit up today, surfed it for the first time ever.

Sleet storm and gale force winds didn't exactly make it awesome but was off shore at least.

Super friendly crew down west, nice to see JP, Rob and the Slide65 gang on fire as usual and always lovely to see Rebecca and Chris.
Finally bumped into Dave Surfhog too, super stoked Gentleman fer sure.

Might be my new favourite fickle find… classic moment when the beach emergency phone rang…

Sunrise over Lundy

Amazing sunrise this morning, fog on the roads but clear at the coast, perfect 6am surf on Fish Simmons, wish I wasn't so paranoid about smashing it up, amazing combination of speed and agility. Carving turns and easy paddling, doesn't get much better… would surf it every day if it wasn't for the crowds. Like getting out a bottle of vintage port once in a while, really makes you appreciate the finer things in life. Roll on Autumn swells…

Not the 'official' title but pretty descriptive, John has delivered a peach of a board to my salty hands. Full of subtle finishes that warrant close inspection, metal flake, delicate lace spray, gorgeous life of ply fin… the list is endless. Template rides 'insane' and flies down the line like a whaling banshee that fin holding fast.
Judging by the admiring glances in and out of the water J has produced another piece of surfing art.

Seems I have neglected Blog duties, it has been noted. Well I'm back after a busy month or so re-designing the new site and photographing about a gazillion new fins. Nice to get wet yesterday and meet up with some good friends (Corky in photo) and shoot the breeze in Paradise.

Been riding my new porcine Squire board John made for me, been getting better every outing, well worth getting him to make you one of the finest sartorial water craft in the business. Must do a full and in-depth post about it soon.

We have had dense fog and bright sun this week, some stormy weather on the way. Tried my 3/2 over the last few days, still too bloody cold, dumped the hood and gloves though, won't be too long till it gets warmer, please?! Get some whilst you can…

What happened to the fog horns?

A week of fog and sea mist down here, spooky surf on Monday, 4-5ft glassy with 50yd visibility, not clever really and slightly disconcerting to say the least. Still fun though.

New website on track and should be launched in a few weeks, assuming my real day job doesn't get in the way, should be good, easier to use and bit more informative. That's the plan…

Hope you have been getting some clean swell where you are… been okay'ish around these parts if you picked your moment carefully.

Soon be time for the 'Season' to start whatever that means, new website will be online by the end of the month, there I've said it so better pull the proverbial finger out, lots of new stock coming too.

Spring sprung?

Finally starting to see some signs things are warming up around here, daffodils in the hedgerows maybe a hoodless surfer and a bit of sunshine. Seems to have been cold forever.

Had a perfect two days of surf, some overhead action on my fish simmons which was a revelation. Not been used to such speed having been on a log pretty much all Winter, wave faces were a blurrrrr.

New fins on the way from around the world and a new website design in the pipeline.
